More generally, I find most critiques of IF simply point out issues that are inherent to any realistically-implementable selection procedure.
Microbiome seeding at birth. There has been a discussion whether it matters whether a baby in born vaginally or through C-section (CS) in terms of their microbiome. Now, a randomized placebo-controlled trial by Brooke C. Wilson et al. tests the effects of seeding CS-born infants with the microbes they would have picked up if born vaginally and finds no effect at 1 and 3 months. Caveat: the number of infants in the study is small.
